Try to kill everyone and destroy everything. I would suggest going slowly through the levels on this run. The Challenges are also much easier with the Invincibility Red Brick, so it's best to come back to them after you have unlock this. Many of them will be 'locked' - while they may be in plain sight, you will often need a specific character action to access the location.
The reason for this is that you will have to re-traverse the entire Hub in free play, and it will probably be easier to make sure you don't miss any side paths if you solely concentrate on that in Step 4.Īs with previous LEGO games, do not go out of your way to collect Treasures or complete Challenges.
It's probably best to focus on the main story path and avoid most of the side paths and quests for now. Here you will need to complete all the levels and begin your exploration of the World Hub. However, there is an invincibility Red Brick that is highly recommended for your Free Play clean up, as it negates this risk of dying (except for falling off a ledge). Any challenges completed will be reset if you die, so it is probably best to focus on only one or two per playthrough. Lose your hearts, or fall off a ledge, and you'll have to restart. It should also be noted that all levels must be completed in one life only. These are goods collected in Levels as you play, although it will be more efficient to purchase these than farm them as you go forward. You will need to use 'resources' to expand the map. This adds a new dimension to the gameplay, as you navigate the World to open up new Levels and complete quests.
The biggest new feature is the Hub World. There are no longer Multi-Challenges, but in addition to Mini-kits and Red Bricks, you will now have to collect Treasure items to complete NPC quests in the Hub World. Each individual level has a total of 10 Challenges that are mostly straightforward, although a number of these will require replays with specific characters in order to clear them.
Although short, you will need to replay a lot of the levels in order to complete Challenges. The levels themselves remain short, although most are longer than previous versions, averaging out at around five minutes each.
This game is different from previous LEGO Vita games in that it blends the short level styles of the LEGO Marvel and LEGO The Movie games with a large open world that serves as a central hub for exploration. LEGO The Hobbit is the seventh LEGO game released on the VITA system.
